City of Loogootee Launches New & Improved Website for Community

This new website was designed and developed by Hedrick Web Design, with the goals of providing residents better access to information and resources, driving tourism and business growth, and increasing community involvement.

The research and planning that went into the design and development of the new website was vital to project success. Our team reviewed dozens of other municipal websites, performed a community input survey, and designed and reviewed sitemaps, wireframes, and UI/UX mockups to ensure that the website was comprehensive, user-friendly, modern, and optimized for both mobile and desktop devices. The website was designed to provide a central location for all the information residents need to stay informed and engaged with their community.

We also made sure that the website was developed, tested, and iterated on to ensure ease of use for residents and ease of maintenance for the city. This involved working closely with the City of Loogootee's team to ensure that the website met their needs and was easy for them to update and manage.

The new website is full of enhanced features such as:

• Over 20 informational pages, providing residents with a wealth of information about the city and its services, such as information on city departments, public services, and community resources.
• Blog functionality for news releases, allowing the city to easily post news releases and updates, keeping residents informed about what's happening in their city.
• A job board with “quick apply” custom webforms, providing residents with job opportunities and allowing them to apply for jobs easily.
• An events calendar, allowing residents to stay informed about upcoming events and activities in the city, and filter events by date and type.
• A “Report an Issue” webform, allowing residents to report issues such as potholes, broken streetlights, or other suggestions and website feedback.
• "Submit an event" and "Submit a job posting" features, allowing residents to submit their own content to the city for approval, making it easy for the city to keep the website updated and encouraging community involvement.
