This report provides important information about the quality of your drinking water and the ongoing efforts by the water system to ensure its safety.

The City of Loogootee's drinking water is sourced from groundwater, utilizing six wells. Throughout 2024, the water system consistently tested for microbiological contaminants and collected disinfectant residuals to control microbial growth.

The report details various regulated contaminants that were detected in the water, including Barium, Fluoride, Nitrate, Lead, Copper, Total Haloacetic Acids (HAA5), Total Trihalomethanes (TTHM), and Radium-228. All detected levels were found to be within established regulatory limits.

Loogootee Water Works did note a procedural violation during the reporting period related to the Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR) for sample siting plan errors, specifically a failure to develop or revise the coliform sample siting plan. It's important to note that this was a planning deficiency and not a direct indication of water quality contamination. The report confirms that there were no unresolved significant deficiencies identified during this period.

Additionally, Loogootee Water Works participated in the U.S. EPA Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR) by collecting samples for 29 PFAS compounds and Lithium. The report states that none of these compounds were detected in the samples collected on March 9, 2025, and September 9, 2025.
