The City of Loogootee Board of Works, with the concurrence of Mayor Brian T. Ader, has reviewed the previously issued City Travel Advisory. The Local Disaster Emergency for the City has now been lifted, effective immediately. The City’s Travel Advisory status has been lowered to "Watch."
LOOGOOTEE, IN — The City of Loogootee Board of Works, pursuant to IC 10-14-3-29, has declared that a local disaster emergency exists for the next seven (7) days in the City.
The City of Loogootee would like to notify residents of two upcoming temporary road closures scheduled for the installation of utilities at new construction sites.
The Board of Public Works serves as the city’s executive management team. It oversees day-to-day operations, including street maintenance, utility projects, and public safety. The Board is responsible for approving city contracts, managing municipal property, and supervising police and fire departments.
The Mayor’s Office provides executive leadership and strategic vision for Loogootee. As the city’s chief executive, the Mayor oversees municipal departments, implements policies, and advocates for economic growth and community development to improve the quality of life for all residents.
The City Council is Loogootee’s legislative body, responsible for adopting local laws and ordinances. The Council manages the city’s annual budget, sets tax rates, and establishes long-term policies to ensure the community’s growth and financial health while representing the voice of the citizens.
