This 50-unit apartment complex, located at 507 N Oak Street, represents so much more than new housing — it embodies momentum, meaningful partnerships, and a stronger future for our community.
The development, spearheaded by JBH Ventures and Sullivan Development, is a direct result of strong collaboration between city officials, private developers, nonprofit partners, and community members. JBH Ventures and Sullivan Development provided comprehensive project updates to the Loogootee City Council this past Monday, July 14th. The presentation slides from the update on Monday, July 14th is available for public release and can be found here. Some renderings from the presentation can be found below.
Oak Street Village, situated on 5.5 acres, represents a $14.6 million investment and is designed as workforce housing, offering a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom units with estimated monthly rents ranging from $475 to $1,391.
Beyond the housing units, the project significantly enhances community amenities and vital supportive services. It will include a 4,500 sq ft childcare facility that will bring 60 new childcare seats to our County, open to the public — a much-needed resource for working families. The development also enhances our community’s recreation by adding more pickleball courts to complement the one already here in Loogootee! Additional amenities will include a public pavilion and playground, a private playground, on-site management, and maintenance. The project also focuses on supportive services, including financial literacy, job training, and resources for first-time homebuyers.
This incredible development embodies the spirit of collaboration and forward-thinking that defines Loogootee. Oak Street Village will provide modern, quality housing options for our workforce and families, and with the vital childcare facility and recreational amenities, it lays a strong foundation for future growth. We are particularly excited that this project gives our young people — those who leave for college or trades — a reason and a way to come back home. It creates space for them to live, work, and build a life right here where their roots are.
Construction for Oak Street Village officially commenced today, July 18, 2025. The project is estimated to be completed by November 2026, with leasing expected to begin in July/August 2026.
