Loogootee Volunteer Fire Department

Loogootee Fire Department provides fire, rescue and medical first-responder protection to 5,500 residents.  Our service area is spread throughout 43 sq. miles, covering Perry Township, and a small portion of McCameron Township, including Burns City and Crane Village.

The Loogootee WorkOne Branch is a government-operated facility that provides a range of services to help individuals in the community find employment and build their careers. Some of the services offered at the Loogootee WorkOne Branch include job search assistance, career counseling, resume and cover letter writing help, and training programs. The branch may also host job fairs and other events to connect job seekers with local employers. In addition to its services for individuals, the Loogootee WorkOne Branch also offers resources and support for employers, such as help with recruitment and training. Martin County Health Department

The Martin County Health Department is a government-operated agency that is responsible for promoting and protecting the health of the community. The department provides a range of services to help keep residents healthy and informed about health issues. Some of the services offered by the Martin County Health Department include immunizations, disease prevention and control, environmental health services, and health education and outreach. The department may also offer screenings and other health services on a limited basis. St. Vincent De Paul & Community Food Bank

The Loogootee St. Vincent De Paul & Community Food Bank is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to those in need in the Loogootee community. The organization operates a food pantry where community members can access free or low-cost food and other necessities. The food pantry is stocked through donations from individuals, businesses, and other organizations, and is open to anyone in need of assistance. In addition to the food pantry, the Loogootee St. Vincent De Paul & Community Food Bank also operates a thrift store where gently used clothing, household items, and other goods are sold at affordable prices. The proceeds from the thrift store help to fund the organization's various programs and services. Hoosier Uplands

Hoosier Uplands is a local non-profit agency based in Southern Indiana that serves as an Area Agency on Aging, Community Action Agency, licensed Home Health Care and Hospice agency, and Community Housing Development Organization! The mission of Hoosier Uplands, is to plan, implement or cause to be implemented, and provide comprehensive services to the poor, elderly, and disabled. The corporation strives to alleviate poverty, improve living conditions, and provide access to health care and social services to those families and individuals in need within our service area.

Martin County Humane Society

The Martin County Humane Society is a non-profit organization that operates a shelter for abandoned, neglected, and homeless animals in the community. In addition to providing temporary housing and care for these animals, the organization also works to find them permanent homes through adoption programs. The Martin County Humane Society also offers spay/neuter services to help control the population of stray and unwanted animals in the community. These services are provided at the shelter, and may be available to community members at reduced rates to help make them more accessible. The organization's goal is to improve the lives of animals in the community and prevent animal cruelty through these programs and services.

The Loogootee BMV Branch is a government-operated facility that provides a range of services related to motor vehicles and driver's licenses. Some of the services offered at the Loogootee BMV Branch include driver's license and ID card issuance, vehicle registration and title services, and testing for driver's licenses and permits. The branch is also a location where community members can purchase specialty license plates, such as personalized plates or plates supporting a particular cause.

Martin County Recycling Center

At the recycling center, you can drop off paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and glass containers. These materials will be sorted and processed, with the goal of reducing waste and conserving natural resources. In addition to traditional recyclables, the recycling center also accepts electronic waste such as computers, cellphones, and televisions. This helps to reduce the amount of hazardous materials that end up in landfills and promotes the responsible disposal of electronic devices.
