Upcoming Road Closures: SE 1st Street and Crane Street

The City of Loogootee would like to notify residents of two upcoming temporary road closures scheduled for the installation of utilities at new construction sites.

The first closure will take place on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, affecting SE 1st Street. Traffic will be restricted from Ackerman Drive to Pine Street beginning at 8:00 AM and will continue until the work is finished.

The second closure is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2026, on Crane Street, weather permitting. Starting at 8:00 AM, the end of the street will be closed to allow for utility installation at a new construction site. Because this work is located at the very end of a dead-end street, it is not expected to affect normal through traffic.

As these projects move forward, we ask all motorists to please slow down and stay alert when traveling near work zones to ensure the safety of our utility crews. We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete these necessary infrastructure improvements.

The City of Loogootee Board of Works, with the concurrence of Mayor Brian T. Ader, has reviewed the previously issued City Travel Advisory. The Local Disaster Emergency for the City has now been lifted, effective immediately. The City’s Travel Advisory status has been lowered to "Watch."
