LOOGOOTEE, IN – The City of Loogootee, in partnership with JBH Ventures, celebrated a major milestone on July 18, 2025, with the groundbreaking of Oak Street Village. This 50-unit apartment complex represents a significant $14.6 million investment in the community's future.

The project, which is designed as workforce housing, is the result of strong collaboration between city officials, developers, and state partners, including support from the Regional Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) 2.0 and the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA). The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key figures including Indiana Governor Mike Braun and Loogootee Mayor Brian Ader. Construction officially began following the ceremony. The project is estimated to be completed by November 2026, with leasing projected to begin in July/August 2026.
